Micro CT-Scan imaging of Carbonates and Sandstone
Understanding and comparing digital rock physics of different rock types such as carbonates and sandstone by applying computerised tomography CT-Scan imaging using Avizo software at different resolutions of these samples.
Objectives
Short –term:
•Study porosity , pore network modelling, throat size, and pore size distribution of selected samples that can represent reservoirs in Qatar
•Compare petrophysical properties of low and high resolution CT-Scans for carbonates and sandstones samples
Long – term:
•3D visualizations and analysis of industrial reservoir data
•Better knowledge of the reservoir rock properties to increase the production rate in shorter period of time (compared to laboratory experiments)
