PetroWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

A device with an orifice installed at the wellhead to control the flow of fluids produced from the well. The size (diameter of the orifice) and working condition of a wellhead choke influence the production rate or hydrocarbons from a well. It also impacts the lifespan of the producing reservoir as well as the surface facilities.[1]
