Ratio between the actual concentration of VOC present at the location where an investigative measurement is made and the observed instrument reading. This quotient represents the correction that must be applied to the instrument reading to take into account that the instrument has been calibrated with a calibration gas that may be different from the substance or mixture of substances present in a leak.[1]
