PetroWiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Device used to measure the flow speed of a gas or air stream.[1]

(Note - It is similar to a vane anemometer. It is inserted in the gas flow from an open ended pipe or through a port in a gas flow pipeline. It consists of an exposed hot wire either heated up by a constant electric current or maintained at a constant temperature when inserted into a flowing gas stream. It operates on the principle of heat transfer.)
