Glossary:Equipment leak detection

Jump to navigation Jump to search

Equipment leak detection is the process of identifying emissions from equipment, components and other points by screening for and detecting fugitive emissions. A screening device may be used to screen a wide area to detect the presence of fugitive methane or vented methane, and a detection device can be used to identify a

specific fugitive or vented source of leak. Most detection and screening instruments an devices (particularly handheld devices) do not quantify the volume or mass of emissions.[1]
