Crosshole electromagnetic (EM) profiling for waterflood monitoring. The upper diagram shows, schematically, the different conductivity paths crossing the reservoir target when a borehole EM source is used in one well, and a set of receivers in another. The lower diagram shows a three-dimensional representation of the change in resistivity as a result of waterflooding operations over eight years for a reservoir in California (from Wilt and Morea146).
