This monograph brings together valuable information on production logging measurements and interpretation procedures. A “must have” information source, this volume is a great starting point for petroleum engineers faced with obtaining and interpreting production logs. Learn how to determine which log or combination of logs to run (and which logs not to run) to accomplish given logging objectives, understand the procedures that must be followed to obtain the most information with each log, make an initial interpretation of commonly used production logs, and appreciate the relative accuracies of various logs in a wide range of well conditions.
About the Author:
A.D. Hill is Associate Department Head and holder of the Robert L. Whiting Endowed Chair in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University. Hill is an expert in the areas of production engineering, well completions, well stimulation, production logging, and complex well performance (horizontal and multilateral wells) and has presented lectures and courses and consulted on these topics throughout the world. He holds a BS degree from Texas A&M University and MS and PhD degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, all in chemical engineering. Hill is the author of the SPE monograph Production Logging: Theoretical and Interpretive Elements, coauthor of the textbook Petroleum Production Systems, and author of more than 100 technical papers and five patents. He has been an SPE Distinguished Lecturer, has served on numerous SPE committees, and was founding chairman of the Austin (Texas) SPE Section. Hill was named a Distinguished Member of SPE in 1999.
