Hydraulic pumping is a proven artificial lift method that has been used since the early 1930s. It offers several different systems for handling a variety of well conditions. Successful applications have included setting depths ranging from 500 to 19,000 ft and production rates varying from less than 100 to 20,000 B/D. Surface packages are available using multiplex pumps ranging from 15 to 625 hp. The systems are flexible because the downhole-pumping rate can be regulated over a wide range with fluid controls on the surface. Chemicals to control corrosion, paraffin, and emulsions can be injected downhole with the power fluid, while fresh water can also be injected to dissolve salt deposits. When pumping heavy crudes, the power fluid can serve as an effective diluent to reduce the viscosity of the produced fluids. [http://petrowiki.org/Hydraulic_pumping Read more....]

PetroWiki was created from the seven volume ''[http://store.spe.org/Petroleum-Engineering-Handbook-Volumes-I-VII-Print-Set-P126.aspx Petroleum Engineering Handbook]'' (''PEH'') published by the [http://www.spe.org Society of Petroleum Engineers] (SPE). PetroWiki preserves the ''PEH'' content in unaltered form (page names that start with PEH:), while allowing SPE's membership to update and expand content from the published version. Pages that do not have PEH: at the beginning may have started with content from the PEH, but have been modified over time by contributors to the wiki.

Revision as of 09:06, 29 September 2014

This page is a sandbox. It is for you to test things like making tables, equations, references, whatever you want. The next user is likely to delete or change anything you put here. That's what it is for. Don't be afraid to play here.

Replace this text with a brief (3-4 lines) introduction to what is covered on this page.

Heading 1

Replace header name above, then begin creating your text in place of this text. To make subheads to this heading, use the Heading level 3 style from the drop down. To make another heading at this level, use Heading level 2. The headings below are used on many pages so we’ve created them for you. If one or more doesn’t apply to your page, you can delete them. Make your headings “sentence” case (initial capital followed by all lowercase except proper names or abbreviations normally rendered in uppercase, such as MWD or EOR).
