SPE requires that contributors to PetroWiki agree to transfer copyright to SPE as part of the process of saving the page. This transfer of copyright affects only the words on the page (which may be changed as part of future contributions by others anyway). Authors have certain retained rights related to this transfer of copyright:

  1. Authors and/or their employers retain all intellectual property rights, including any ideas, process, procedure, or article of manufacture described in the contributed content.
  1. Copyright to figures or tables that are not original to the submission to this wiki is retained by the owner of the original source rights. All non-original figures or tables should include a citation to the original source, and preferably a watermark on the image itself indicating the copyright owner.

For information about use of content contributed to PetroWiki, see PetroWiki:Permissions.
