In the context of a pipe gauge, drift is the minimum id of tubing through which a standard drift tool will pass.


In the context of tools, a drift is a tool with a set diameter used to check the wellbore for clearance prior to running a tool string or piece of equipment.


In the context of data, a drift is a short-scale trend at the size of the neighborhood (i.e., the mean changes regularly at the neighborhood scale) in data that contain a trend.
